The Saint Joseph Church and Shrine is a historic district located at 8742 U.S. Route 12 in the Irish Hills region in rural Cambridge Township in Lenawee County, Michigan. The district was designated as a Michigan Historic Site on April 19, 1990, and added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 4, 2007. [1] [2]
The lake is circular shaped, with North Bay and Turtle Bay sprouting from one side and Little Corey jutting out from another side. The vast majority of the lake is located in Fabius Township, St. Joseph County, although its westernmost reach extends into Newberg Township, Cass County. It is the second largest lake in St. Joseph County.

The bridge is not the first bridge to span this section of the St. Joseph River. In 1887 a swollen St. Joseph River swept away a bridge that was about two blocks from the current bridge location. [3] The current bridge was constructed in 1887 by nearby Parkville builder Pierce Bodmer. [4]
