St. Joseph was first platted in 1829, and the first lighthouse at the site, located on the shore, was built in 1832. Construction began on harbor piers in 1836, and by 1848 a beacon light had been established on the pier. The onshore lighthouse was replaced in 1859, and a new pierhead beacon was constructed on the south pier in 1870.
The St. Joseph Point Light was a lighthouse on the mainland north of present-day Port St. Joe, Florida, across the entrance to St. Joseph Bay from St. Joseph Point. St. Joseph Bay is enclosed by St. Joseph Peninsula, which runs west some three miles (5 km) from the mainland to Cape San Blas, and then northerly 15 miles (24 km) to St. Joseph Point.
Added to NRHP. December 2, 1993. The Ninth District Lighthouse Depot is a collection of historic structures located at 1 Lighthouse Lane in St. Joseph, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. [1] It now houses the Saint Joseph River Yacht Club.

This is a list of all lighthouses in the U.S. state of Mississippi as identified by the United States Coast Guard and other historical sources. Only two of those listed remain standing, and neither holds a Coast Guard maintained light, though one is maintained privately. Three were replaced by unmanned lights at the same location.
