The color is defined as red in the NCS or Natural Color System (NCS 1080-R). The Natural Color System is a color system based on the four unique hues or psychological primary colors red, yellow, green, and blue. The NCS is based on the opponent process theory of vision.
A color in the RGB color model is described by indicating how much of each of the red, green, and blue is included. The color is expressed as an RGB triplet ( r , g , b ), each component of which can vary from zero to a defined maximum value.
For example, consider the color where the red/green/blue values are decimal numbers: red=36, green=104, blue=160 (a grayish-blue color). The decimal numbers 36, 104, and 160 are equivalent to the hexadecimal numbers 24, 68, and A0 respectively.
Red is the color at the long wavelength end of the visible spectrum of light, next to orange and opposite violet. It has a dominant wavelength of approximately 625–740 nanometres. It is a primary color in the RGB color model and a secondary color (made from magenta and yellow) in the CMYK color model, and is the complementary color of cyan.
The first letter of the color code is matched by order of increasing magnitude. The electronic color codes, in order, are: 0 = Black; 1 = Brown; 2 = Red; 3 = Orange; 4 = Yellow; 5 = Green; 6 = Blue; 7 = Violet; 8 = Gray; 9 = White. Easy to remember. A mnemonic which includes color name(s) generally reduces the chances of confusing black and brown.
The IALA recommends categorical color codes in 7 colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, white & black. Adding redundant coding of luminosity and colorfulness adds information and increases speed and accuracy of color decoding tasks. Color codes are superior to others (encoding to letters, shape, size, etc.) in certain types of tasks.
The colour blood red is a dark shade of the colour red meant to resemble the colour of human blood (which is composed of oxygenated red erythrocytes, white leukocytes, and yellow blood plasma). It is the iron in hemoglobin specifically that gives blood its red colour.
The Color Code is based on four types of personality, identified by color: Red, ( motivated by power ); Blue, (motivated by intimacy ); White, (motivated by peace ); and Yellow, (motivated by fun ). [4] Although demographic groups vary, Hartman suggests that Reds comprise 25% of the population; Blues 35%; Whites 20%; and Yellows 20%. [5]
Various shades of the color red. This category is for all varieties, not only shades in the technical sense. See also the categories Shades of magenta and Shades of pink.
Venetian red is a light and warm (somewhat unsaturated) pigment that is a darker shade of red. The composition of Venetian red changed over time. Originally it consisted of natural ferric oxide (Fe 2 O 3, partially hydrated) obtained from the red hematite.
