Coins of the United States dollar - aside from those of the earlier Continental currency - were first minted in 1792. New coins have been produced annually and they comprise a significant aspect of the United States currency system. Circulating coins exist in denominations of 1¢ (i.e. 1 cent or $0.01), 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, 50¢, and $1.00.
Minted was founded in 2007 by Mariam Naficy as a crowdsourced internet art fair, and has become an online stationery kingpin with over 500 employees and 10,000-plus designs.
The 1853-1855 coins were minted in two varieties: one with arrows at the date, and one without them. The arrows indicated a slight reduction in weight. Dimes: Seated Liberty 1838–1843, 1845, 1849–1860, 1891 The mint mark is located in the wreath. The Seated Liberty dime of 1838 is said to be the first silver coin minted in New Orleans.
The 50 State quarters (authorized by Pub. L. 105–124 (text) (PDF), 111 Stat. 2534, enacted December 1, 1997) was a series of circulating commemorative quarters released by the United States Mint. Minted from 1999 through 2008, they featured unique designs for each of the 50 US states on the reverse .
