Kittrell, Texas. Kittrell is a ghost town approximately 20 miles north of Huntsville and 10 miles west of Trinity in Walker County, Texas, United States. It was named after and founded by Pleasant Williams Kittrell, a physician who helped found the University of Texas and was a member of Sam Houston 's presidential cabinet.
