Michigan (/ ˈ m ɪ ʃ ɪ ɡ ən / ⓘ MISH-ig-ən) is a state in the Great Lakes region of the Upper Midwest region of the United States.It borders Wisconsin to the southwest in the Upper Peninsula, and Indiana and Ohio to the south in the Lower Peninsula; it is also connected by Lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron, and Erie to Minnesota and Illinois, and the Canadian province of Ontario.
Henry A. Chapin was born in Leyden, Massachusetts in 1813 and moved with his parents to Ohio in 1814. In 1834, Chapin moved to Edwardsburg, Michigan, a few miles east of Niles, and started a general store.
In July 1992 the Niles Campus opened with a new 25,000-square-foot (2,300 m 2) facility, located just outside the city limits of Niles, Michigan. In 1999 a 22,000-square-foot (2,000 m 2) addition was completed, which came close to doubling the size of the Niles Campus. In 2001 a 14,000-square-foot (1,300 m 2) Michigan Technology Center was added.
