"Ms. Jackson" is a song by the American hip hop duo Outkast, consisting of André 3000 and Big Boi. It was released on October 24, 2000, as the second single from Outkast's fourth album, Stankonia . Forrest County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi.As of the 2020 census, the population was 78,158. [2] Its county seat and largest city is Hattiesburg. [3] The county was created from Perry County in 1908 and named in honor of Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederate general in the American Civil War and the first Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.
It was in front of the hotel that Jessie Lee Garner was attacked by a white man on a Jackson city bus. [5] In 1954, the hotel was purchased by R.E. "Dumas" Milner, a wealthy automobile dealer and businessman. Milner renovated the hotel in the popular modernist style of the day and renamed it the King Edward Hotel. [3]
