Description and treatment. Postanesthetic shivering is one of the leading causes of discomfort in patients recovering from general anesthesia. English language speech does not seem to be affected by this surgery.
Side effects of adjuvant cancer therapy. Depending on what form of treatment is used, adjuvant therapy can have side effects, like all therapy for neoplasms. Chemotherapy frequently causes vomiting, nausea, alopecia, mucositis, myelosuppression particularly neutropenia, sometimes resulting in septicaemia.
The current body of evidence suggests if a tourniquet is used in knee replacement surgery, it probably increases the risk of severe side effects and postoperative pain. The evidence did not show any clear benefit on patient function, treatment success or quality of life.
