Half of the area falls under the greater "Historic Core" of Downtown Los Angeles, which spans between Hill and Main Streets, and 3rd and 9th streets.

The shorts feature the wordmark 'Lakers' on either side of the leg. The uniforms were used as throwbacks in the 1996–97, 2003–04 and 2020–21 seasons.
