[3] Batik is made either by drawing dots and lines of wax with a spouted tool called a canting, [c] or by printing the wax with a copper stamp called a cap.
Batik, which is an art of wax-resist dyeing which creates intricate motifs, was elevated as a national art form—a national costume of Indonesia, which transcends Indonesian ethnic groups. Numbers of patterns and motifs have been developed, especially in Java, which contains symbolic meanings and significance.
Design pattern. A design pattern is the re-usable form of a solution to a design problem. The idea was introduced by the architect Christopher Alexander [1] and has been adapted for various other disciplines, particularly software engineering. [2]
