It is in the southern portion of the Piney Woods region of the state, an hour north of Houston. The 635 acre park along Lake Livingston opened in 1977. [2]
It operated as a luxury tour boat for approximately 5 years and then sold to Menzies Fisheries as a fish cleaning station, first at Dawson Landing, Marnine Point and finally, in 1969, at Moose Bay on the North Arm of Great Slave Lake, where it was abandoned. Ruins of the boat are still visible today in Moose Bay.
