On 31 August 2021, Disney announced that it would phase out Hotstar in the US and move all contents into Hulu and ESPN+. Initially, it was announced that the service would shut down in the US by late 2022, until it got moved to an earlier date on 30 November 2021.
In May 2023, Disney rolled out the Star hub for Disney+ Hotstar subscribers in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. In March 2024, it was announced that the Star hub will be added on Disney+ in Latin America on June 26, 2024, while its separate platform, Star+, will be discontinued on July 24, 2024. Content
