Color temperature is a parameter describing the color of a visible light source by comparing it to the color of light emitted by an idealized opaque, non-reflective body. The temperature of the ideal emitter that matches the color most closely is defined as the color temperature of the original visible light source.
The first letter of the color code is matched by order of increasing magnitude. The electronic color codes, in order, are: 0 = Black; 1 = Brown; 2 = Red; 3 = Orange; 4 = Yellow; 5 = Green; 6 = Blue; 7 = Violet; 8 = Gray; 9 = White; Easy to remember. A mnemonic which includes color name(s) generally reduces the chances of confusing black and brown.
Shades of purple. There are numerous variations of the color purple, a sampling of which is shown below. In common English usage, purple is a range of hues of color occurring between red and blue. Brown colors are dark or muted shades of reds, oranges, and yellows on the RGB and CMYK color schemes. In practice, browns are created by mixing two complementary colors from the RYB color scheme (combining all three primary colors). In theory, such combinations should produce black, but produce brown because most commercially available blue ...

The Munsell color system, showing: a circle of hues at value 5 chroma 6; the neutral values from 0 to 10; and the chromas of purple-blue (5PB) at value 5. In colorimetry, the Munsell color system is a color space that specifies colors based on three properties of color: hue (basic color), value , and chroma (color intensity
25-pair color code. Single-core 25-pair, 50-conductor cable. The 25-pair color code, originally known as even-count color code, [1] is a color code used to identify individual conductors in twisted-pair wiring for telecommunications .
Dark reddish purple. B: Normalized to [0–255] (byte) The color Japanese violet or Sumire is shown at right. This is the color called "violet" in the traditional Japanese colors group, a group of colors in use since beginning in 660 CE in the form of various dyes that are used in designing kimono.
White light is dispersed by a prism into the colors of the visible spectrum. The visible spectrum is the band of the electromagnetic spectrum that is visible to the human eye. Electromagnetic radiation in this range of wavelengths is called visible light (or simply light). The optical spectrum is sometimes considered to be the same as the ...
