On this subreddit, I learned the youtubepp method of downloading Youtube videos. That has been working great since the Firefox extension method stopped working. Yesterday, the youtubepp method stopped, and a screen said that y2mate was discontinued. Anyone have an alternative method?
Edit: I used en1.y2mate.is/CZA if that matters. Most likely not, they redirect you to advertisements. It's the only way those type of websites make some sort of income. To prevent this from happening I'd recommend using UBlock Origin. Here’s a tip on any link you see, to see if it‘s safe or not.
Y2mate is for the most part protected to utilize, however it’s essential to be wary while downloading documents from any site. Install anti-virus software on your device and refrain from downloading files from questionable websites.
Websites like these exist on ad revenue, and big name advertisers won't work with them so they get these cheap little shady operations doing their ads instead. The whole thing looks very scammy, and it should be treated as a red flag, but one red fleg does not always mean trouble.
Delete delete delete i used to use Y2mate as well until a couple months ago when it started redirecting me to porn sites and viruses it is now another unsafe website. Run a security check. Reply reply
50 votes, 94 comments. true. There's a web browser (like google) app called Brave, and it has cool features like built in adblockers and VPNs, but on iPhone, by pressing the 3 dots in the corner and tapping "Add to Playlist", you can add your videos to a playlist where you can then hold the video and click "Save for Offline Cache" Afaik, you can only use the playlist on iPhone.
I've used Y2mate quite a bit; but if that fails to work for some reason, a quick search (on DuckDuckGo) reveals alternatives. One will usually work. I recently downloaded the official "Sympathy for the Devil" lyric video (1080p), after Youtube refused to play it without interruptions.
I use the site Y2Mate. I know the ads and cookies are unsafe. But I’m wondering are the mp4 files themselves safe. And is this true for my windows computer and/or iPhone aswell? Use Seal on Android or yt-dlp or youtube-dl on Windows. It’s safe, so long as you don’t fall for the very questionable ads.
Y2Mate is a powerful online video downloader that allows users to convert and download YouTube videos in various formats. This tool has gained immense popularity due to its user-friendly interface and versatility.
If you use a free VPN (like in the Opera browser) then you don't even need a downloader app: just put "pp" after "youtube" in the URL and you'll get instant download links. Still works here for me. Someone told me in another post that Y2mate is still good.
