A new fish cleaning station opened at Lampe Marina, on the south end of the parking lot, in Erie on May 1, 2024. The station will be open 24 hours a day, May 1 through Oct. 31, 2024.

The reserve's public facilities include wharf, boat ramps, car and trailer parking area, fish-cleaning table, advisory signs (boating, fishing, personal water craft and navigation), picnic tables and amenities. Fish species in the Saddle River include largemouth bass, pickerel, bullhead catfish, sunfish and different varieties of trout. Most of the trout are stocked by the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, although the uppermost reaches of the river and some of its tributaries hold wild brown trout.
