The Henri Bendel Mansion Built in the late 1920s by architect Perry Barker, the Bendel Mansion was Henri Willis Bendel 's homage to the classical elegance of a British manor house. Using two Tudor mansions located in Maidenhead, England , as inspiration, Barker built the epitome of the American "castle" of the time for his client.
