Minnesota State is currently coached by Matt Margenthaler, the school's all-time winningest men's basketball coach who is a 1991 Western Illinois graduate that has guided the Mavericks to a 330–133 mark for a .713 winning percentage, seven conference championships and 11 NCAA tournament appearances in his 15 years with program.
The Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center is a 5,280-seat (8,200 for concerts) multi-purpose arena in Mankato, Minnesota, built in 1994 [2] and opened in early 1995. It is home to the Minnesota State Mavericks men's ice hockey team and women's ice hockey team, and also hosts musical performances, conventions and other events.
This was the Mavericks first hat trick since Ashley Young registered one against Bemidji State in 2008. [ 2 ] In 2018 and 2019, the Mavericks played in the Women's Face-Off Classic game hosted by the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum .
