Yes, open an Etsy but your goal should be to onboard the etsy customer onto your site as quickly as possible and just think of the 6.5% as a finders fee to etsy. Truly, it’s not the fee that’s the problem. It’s the service that is atrocious.

In total I've made close to £4000 revenue. What is profit is hard to tell, but I'd imagine its close to £2000 / $2500. For the work this has taken so far, the amount of hours creating listings, dealing with Karens (more on that later) and general Etsy work it really hasn't been worth it. I sell mid to higher priced items (£15 to £100) so ...

04-27-202111:35 AM. looking at this logically... we are all buyers of things and we are (vast majority) sellers. from time to time everyone would like a little feedback, sure. But the decision of what to make has to come from your creative interior. Relying on other sellers to determine what to sell can also backfire.

But it took years to slowly grow my profit margins to the point they are now at. I reinvested in stock for over 5 years. With high value and a healthy profit margin I only have to sell 2 or 3 items per month on Etsy to be happy. I sell on other platforms, local galleries and take commercial commissions - themed décor and prop builds.

When I first started I tried to sell flower push pins. EVERY PUSH PIN SELLER on Etsy sells flowers. A new shop has no chance in ranking for that. So I looked at what the other sellers were selling and went the opposite direction, but still in an area that I find fun and appealing. Also don't just grab stock photos to sell or slap on things.

The old orange app has better stats info. The newer blue app is easier to list new items, edit listings, rearrange photos, etc. And then there are lots of things that neither do, that you have to use a browser for anyway. So it's kind of a pain going between the 3. 8.

  9. Selling fan-made merch legally? : r/Etsy - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/Etsy/comments/oahgx4/selling_fanmade_merch_legally

Answer: nope, it's not enough and doesn't protect you legally in any way. 'Inspired by' also doesn't. Basically unless it's something from public domain, you cannot sell fan art on etsy legally. Honestly, you are better of creating your own designs. This way you can keep selling, open new shops if you want to sell other (non-infringing) items ...

  10. Etsy is exactly for small sellers, despite the get rich quick schemes & infiltration of drop shipping. A small seller like all business takes time and money. The more money one has to start, the faster the profits roll in. Not everyone wanting to start a business can be in an abundance of money.
