If someone hacks your account, changes your recovery email/information - Yahoo will not be able to recover. Someone who hacks an account can easily change all of this information. And we know how susceptible Yahoo is to this. Yahoo "Premium Support" told me it was escalated - but they still couldn't do anything unless I verified my email.

When the dreaded lockout happened last week, I realized what a grave mistake I had made by doing that, as I was also locked out of my yahoo. A call to customer service early in the morning got me an overseas rep, who basically acknowledged the problem and said there was nothing she could do and they were working on it.
In prior times I'd be able to select the time period of the data i wanted to see then I'd be able to copy/paste this data into an excel file. However, it looks like yahoo finance has had a recent user interface update on it's pages and they don't allow the price data to be directly downloaded anymore.

This problem started happening about a month ago. Whenever I open a new Chrome window or tab, in both a regular window and incognito window, instead of binging me to the google search page, it brings me directly to the yahoo search page. Whenever I go to do a search it always defaults to Yahoo. Ive gone through all my settings.
My guess is Yahoo's owners have simply quit investing in the platform. AOL pages, owned by the same company perform just as dismally. AOL and Yahoo were owned by Verizon, but the slowness seems to coincide with the sale to a new ownership group that simply doesn't want to invest in dying platforms.
